the Mere Exposure Effect

The Mere Exposure Effect relates to the fact that the repeated exposure to a unfamiliar stimulus increases our liking to it.

I have hope that the Mere Exposure Effect will eventually wear any possible detractors to my artwork down. (Van Gogh was supposedly not hailed too highly in his time, I hear. On the other hand, I might be in for a long, long, long wait.)

some in-progress characters

Some in-progress pages, I just scanned them in and did not clean them up in photoshop (my scanner glass, I've noticed, is both dusty and cracked/scratched). So pardon the mess due to the scan and the rough art at this stage.

Another from July

I crafted this from the drawing on the left, to see if it could make a decent t-shirt graphic back in July.

semi-"happy holloween"

I have been sitting on this iteration of my drawing that looks too much like a manga mummy since July. I think it is because my ink drawing is an iteration of a manga mummy I saw on the back cover of a book in a store (for books). So, full circle! <somber "...meh...yay.">

girl portrait

Been a long time since I have done one of these and I could probably polish it more, but I just wanted to shake off the rust (done in ~one hour's time) and prove to myself I am still to be regarded as an artist of unmeasurable talent.
How that is proved escapes me at the moment but maybe it will come to me later.
Maybe, it is my sense of humor.
